About this event

WHAT TO EXPECT 

We’ll start the session off with connecting to our bodies via some movement mobility. 


We’re then going to dive even deeper with our Wim Hof breathwork to pull ourselves into our parasympathetic nervous system, and even unlock some super powers.


Whilst in our meditative state and with our parasympathetic nervous system fully turned on, we’re going to tweak the dials a bit and get into some healing sound therapy. Bask in your bliss as you feel the frequency reverberate through every cell in your body.


We’ll then pull you out of this and get you ready for the cold exposure ice plunge, ramping our system all the way back up, and enjoying the high levels of dopamine and euphoria that accompany the experience.


ABOUT

The cold plunge has become popular thanks to pioneers like Wim Hof and Laird Hamilton. 


Though many people do ice baths to speed up recovery and reduce inflammation, we will be practicing this to purposely stress our nervous system into fight or flight and learn how to pull ourselves back into our parasympathetic state. 


Learning and practicing this skill will truly allow us to recover faster no matter our physical, mental, or emotional circumstance, allowing us to show up as our most authentic self.


WHY

Most of the successful and high performing people I know are drawn to some form of artificial struggle or mental challenge. Often these are regularly scheduled activities, things that push them out of their comfort zone, like ice baths, meditation, Jiu Jitsu, archery, endurance sports, or places like SOMA MVMT, etc.


Why does our stress response matter? You’ve lived long enough to know, that shit happens.


These activities represent microdoses of the discomfort, anxiety, resistance, obstacles, setbacks, curveballs, and heartbreak that life WILL have in store for all us.


It can be distilled to a practice of handling stress in a controlled environment.


People who spend regularly scheduled time practicing their stress response certainly don’t become immune to life’s struggles, but I believe them to become better at handling it, and better because of it.


PLEASE BRING:

- a yoga mat to lay on.

- warm/ comfortable clothing to keep you warm during the breathwork and for after the plunge.

- a swimsuit or whatever you’re comfortable getting wet in.

- a towel to dry off with.
